VES started out as a grain of thought about the founders’ could-be-better experiences with being a virtual assistant– the recruitment and hiring process, the pay, the go-between. Add to that a pinch of ideas for change– how it would be best for an independent contractor to be paid more than the agency, how an agent’s technical training should be simultaneous with their personal development, how clients could be best served without compromising the needs of the agents. Mix that with this group of individuals just wanting to make their time together productive, and their bonding activities leading towards a version of themselves they can be proud of. The product is an agency that is VA-friendly, hassle-free for clients, and growth-oriented. Of course, there’s dessert, and that sweet stuff eaten at the end of a meal is your priority. So will it be for VES. After all, you’re our priority.
“VAnilla” is a fun take on the name of the famous flavor, “vanilla”. We actually look at the word as a phrase in Filipino, to mean “VA nila” or “their VA” in English, because we set out to be who our work priorities need us to be– the provider of solutions. We can assist our clients and agents in any way possible, provided the personal stuff is only for giving out pieces of advice. “Nila”, which means “their” in English, highlights our goal to be more outward in view when designating what is more important to us as an agency. We always look at the people we’re working with as our priorities with their priorities being the only once to share equal footing with them. In relation to that amount of care for our stakeholders, vanilla orchids in the wild are (or were) pollinated only by the Melipona bee, allowing these plants to survive for many years. We wish to mirror that kind of special connection by nurturance. Therefore, how the bees are to the orchids is how we would like to be to our agents and to insurance companies. And while “vanilla” connotes a plain or ordinary person or thing, VES definitely isn’t “vanilla” because we’re witty (see name) and chill even though we don’t always poke fun out of everything. If there’s one thing we’re very serious about, it’s making sure nobody feels left out in our professional affairs, and not even in our interpersonal relations, much like a barkada (Filipino for “a group of very close friends)
VES endeavors to provide expert solutions to everyone who may need it. We do so with the deliberate awareness towards the discrepancy in terms of favorable treatment between agents and clients in any industry involving staffing agencies and remote work. As such, VES acts as a balance mainly between the two aforementioned parties that can’t seem to be perceived as equals. These two primary stakeholders are then represented in the logo by the two lines parallel to each other. The diagonal line between them symbolizes VES, a dynamic connector of the two aspects of a virtual assistant agency that, for VES, has to be catered to at the same time and to the same degree to make the already available “vanilla” flavor of most agencies extra special.
